Description

"'In our country we have suffered for centuries; women have been the harijans of our society,' the speaker says emotionally, waxing eloquent on the theme of women's oprpression. She pauses, then continues, 'But...I am not a feminist!' [...] When we hear such statements we cannot help but wonder why some people feel the need to condemn that which many others take seriously. We can only conclude that they haven't given feminism any thought at all or that they have imbibed the considerable false propoganda against feminists and feminism."

First ed.: 1986.
